Who am I?

As a descendant of Maj. William Lightfoot, a commander in George Washington’s Virginia militia, and born in the bicentennial year of 1976, I grew up with a deep sense patriotism for this Great Land and the history of our founding fathers. In college, I painted the American flag onto canvases and etched the lyrics of “God Bless America” into a thick copper plate for reproduction onto heavyweight artisan paper.

I am not trained in songwriting, have not received permission from anyone to attempt this, nor do I have a U.S. history degree. I simply love our country, am a peacekeeper by nature and only consider that perhaps our National Anthem could be delicately altered to be accepted by all.
